Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a national initiative to enable and encourage students to safely walk and bicycle to school funding from the Federal Highway Administration (the National Center for Safe Routes to School)
Projects might build sidewalks, bicycle paths & pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, reduce speeds in school zones & neighborhoods, address distracted driving among drivers of all ages, educate generations on pedestrian & bicycle safety
Benefits include: less roadway congestion, less gasoline consumption, cleaner air, healthier and happier children, more lively and engaged communities.
